By Rev. Keith Holladay
In May of this year, I faced the darkest hour of my life. In my worst nightmare I never
dreamed I would come to such a dark hour, but I did. I became so weak from the battle we
were facing, I felt as if I didnt have the strength to draw my next breath, much
less take a step of faith. Its good to know the mechanics of faith, but
when youre facing a dark hour as I was, the steps really dont
matter. As far as the battle
is concerned, I choose to not share any gory details as I dont want to give any
glory to the devil. He is really irrelevant anyway. The only one I want to focus on is
Jesus and what Hes done in our hearts. I knew I needed strength
and I knew how to get it. I had to enter into worship. Neh. 8:10 says, ...the joy
of the LORD is your strength. Ps 16:11 says, ...in His presence is
fullness of joy.... BUT, it felt as if I didnt have the strength to even
worship. I decided I would have to go back to bed, and get back up again. I laid down with
a boom box at my head, playing my newest CD titled, Face To Face. For an hour
and a half I let it play as I took the time to turn my eyes toward Jesus. I found that I
had to make a conscious effort to keep my eyes on Him if I were going to pass over to the
other side. If youre facing a
situation that seems impossible, I have good news for you. YOU CAN OVERCOME! YOU CAN MAKE
IT OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE!! AND HERES HOW YOURE GOING TO DO IT. You must come to the
realization that only two things matter in life. 1) Your personal relationship with God.
2) Your family. Everything else in life is simply icing on the cake. Heb 11:6 says,
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Everything we have in life must come as a reward of us diligently seeking Him. If
were going to make it through the battle, the victory must come as a reward of
diligently seeking Him. If were going to take our healing, it must come as a reward
of diligently seeking Him. If were going to walk in prosperity, it must come as a
reward of diligently seeking Him. If were going to become debt free, it must come as
a reward of diligently seeking Him. Our careers, ministry,
job, stuff, health..., all of it must come as a reward of diligently seeking Him!! Have you ever heard
someone refer to a battle they went through that almost took them out, and they said they
were so glad they went through it? Ive heard that more than once and, quite
honestly, thought they were out of their minds. Now that Ive been through the
greatest battle Ive ever faced, I understand what they were saying. It wasnt the battle
itself they were so excited about, but what God did on the inside of them as a result of
turning to Him that was priceless. Let me encourage you now
to make time DAILY to spend in the word, prayer and worship. Its wonderful that we
have so many churches that preach the word and lay hands on people, but if God is going to
perfect what Hes doing in you, it will come out of the time you take to find that
place of expectancy. Whatever you do,
dont quit! Gal 6:9 says, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due
season we shall reap, if we faint not. I promise you, the light
at the end of the tunnel is not a freight train, and it wont run you over and kill
you. You will make it, IF you diligently
seek Him daily. TO CONTACT REV. KEITH
