THE GOD WHO PERFORMS

JOB 23:14  “FOR HE (GOD) PERFORMETH THE THING THAT IS APPOINTED FOR ME: AND MANY SUCH THINGS ARE WITH HIM.

This Scripture in the book of Job gives us insight into God’s purpose. His purpose where Job was concerned as well as His purpose for us.

The word, “PERFORMETH,” or performs means:

                       1.   To accomplish or bring to completion

                       2.   To fulfill a promise

                       3.   To carry out or execute an action or a process

In other words, God will accomplish, bring to completion, fulfill His promise and carry out what HE has appointed for us.    Your life is not an accident and it is not a mistake!  You may have been a surprise to your parents, but you were not a surprise to God.  Some of us may have started out in life as an unwanted pregnancy, as far as our natural parents were concerned, but as far as God was concerned, not only did He want you: He knew you before you were born, before the foundation of the world He loved you and called you to obey and serve Him  (Rom.8:29-30).

The Lord has a path for each of us to follow.  He has plans for us.  There are things He has in store for us that we do not want to miss.  His way is perfect (II Sam.22: 31).  His way works.  It doesn’t have to be revised or updated.  When we submit to His way and His plan for us, life begins to make sense.  There is peace in the plan of God.  There is provision in the plan of God.  There is power available in the plan of God.

Throughout Scripture the Lord dealt with people to walk with Him in faith and obedience.   To trust in Him with all their hearts and to lean not unto their own understanding.  Those that yielded to Him in unwavering faith experienced great victories in their lives: they walked in the realm of the supernatural-the realm where God lives!  People that displayed absolute unqualified trust in what God told them to do caused all of heaven to move on their behalf.  God became so real to them that no matter how impossible their situation appeared to be in the natural, their faith carried them into a place where “ All things were possible”.

When it seemed to them that there was  “ no way”, God made a way.  By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea, kingdoms were subdued, the mouths of lions were stopped, women received their dead raised to life again, and, out of weakness, people were made strong.  All of these things happened because even in the face of apparent defeat, people made a decision to believe what God told them.  When you choose to act upon God’s Word to you, then He will carry out what He has planned for you.  Believing the Word of God opens the window to your life that gives God the opportunity to move for you.

FOR HE PERFORMS THE THING THAT IS APPOINTED FOR ME.”  God is the one who brings these things to pass for us.  He needs us to co-operate with Him.  He needs us to renew our minds, to

change our thinking, to receive His Word,  and by faith,  receive His grace for our lives.  God’s grace is His power and ability.  His grace in our lives accomplishes things we could never do ourselves.

We don’t have to struggle and worry and labor to bring God’s plan to pass.   We don’t have to make it happen, we can let it happen.  Faith does not fret.  Faith does not worry.  Faith believes and faith speaks

(II Cor. 4:13).  What does faith believe and what does faith speak?  Faith believes and faith speaks what God has said about the situation.  Once we have heard from God nothing else matters.  We can rest in what He has said.  “ For we which have believed do enter into rest” (Heb. 4:3)

God wants us to rest in His ability to carry out his promises in our lives.  The way we do this is found in Heb. 4:2,  FOR UNTO US WAS THE GOSPEL PREACHED, AS WELL AS UNTO THEM: BUT THE WORD PREACHED DID NOT PROFIT THEM, NOT BEING MIXED WITH FAITH IN THEM THAT HEARD IT.”  This Scripture refers to the children of Israel, but as you can see, it also has an application for present-day believers.  Moses and the Israelites had a divine destiny.  God had a plan for them; He had a purpose that He wanted to carry out for them.  His plan involved releasing them from slavery and bringing them into a place of plenty called Canaan’s Land.

You see, the Lord’s intention is not just that we be delivered from the bondage of sin.  He wants to give us life and life more abundantly. (Jn. 10:10)  The Word that was preached to the children of Israel concerning God’s covenant blessings and promises did not profit them.  The Word that was preached didn’t do them any good because they wouldn’t mix faith with the Word that they heard.  The result was that the first generation failed to enter into Canaan Land-they failed to receive their rightful inheritance.

Don’t miss out on what God has for you.  He has an appointment of new life, health and healing, prosperity, and victory for you.   The price has already been paid; the blood of Jesus has been shed for you.  You can come into covenant relationship and receive the inheritance that belongs to you.  Mix faith with the Word of God by believing and declaring it and God will perform what He has appointed for you.
