GOD’S WORD IS MEDICINE

 proverbs 4:20-22

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

The Hebrew meaning for the word “health” is “medicine”. We can take God’s Word as medicine and it will heal our bodies. If a doctor prescribes a certain medicine with directions for taking that medicine, and you don’t take it as prescribed, it won’t do you any good.

Begin taking God’s Word as daily medicine as it is prescribed in Proverbs 4: 20-22.

Several years ago, my body was attacked with flu symptoms. I confessed healing scriptures and stood on the Word and just went about my regular routine. But, inside of me, the Holy Spirit was saying, “You need to take more medicine.” I knew what God meant. He was saying I needed more of the Word.

Well, I was in the Word every day, but He was telling me I needed to take extra time with Him. I didn’t need for somebody to lay hands on me or to agree with me; I needed to obey the Spirit of God and take my medicine. After hearing God speak this to me for two days, I locked myself in my bedroom, laid across my bed with my Bible, and spent about four hours reading and meditating on the Word. When I awakened the next morning, every symptom was gone!

Gloria Copeland shared a testimony of God’s Word being medicine to her body. She was experiencing symptoms of her mind going blank for a few seconds. She would be talking and just go blank all of a sudden. The doctor told her there was no cure, and the medicine he prescribed had little benefits and some side effects.

She decided to take the medicine of God’s Word!

After nine months of looking up several healing scriptures every night and reading them aloud, every symptom disappeared. This happened several years ago; and to this day, she doesn’t go to bed at night without reading those scriptures aloud.

God’s Word will not only heal you; it will keep you in good health.

Dodie Olsteen describes in her book, Healed of Cancer, how she was healed of liver cancer. Her doctor had diagnosed her condition as incurable and sent her home from the hospital in December 1981. She was healed, however, by standing on, believing in, and confessing God’s Word.

Dodie said, “ The word of God saved my life. Every day I would read many scriptures. To this day, I never leave my home without reading healing scriptures. I know them by heart, but I still look them up and read them. It does something for me. During my morning quiet time, I look at healing scriptures. I don’t let them depart from my eyes, keeping them in the mist of my heart, because they have been life and health to me.”

She continued to say, “It seemed like I was going through a dark tunnel, there seemed to be no end to it. And, yet, I confessed ‘I am healed’. Confession didn’t seem to work for me for quite a while, but it finally did work!”

“I began to see a faint ray of light. And, oh what a wonderful day it was when I saw the bright light of God’s healing power!”

If you are believing God for your healing, watch what comes out of your mouth. Proverbs 18:21 says, “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Keep on confessing God’s Word. We are to agree with God’s Word and call those things which be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

We need to call our bodies healed in the face of lying symptoms. We need to confess victory in the face of what appears to be defeat. Resist the devil with God’s Word, he has to flee. Remember, don’t give up but, stand (Ephesians 6:13). God is watching over His Word, we believe it and confess it, and He is performing it in our bodies and in our situations (Jeremiah 1:12).

HEALING SCRIPTURES AND CONFESSIONS

Take the following GOS-PILLS as medicine.  Read them!  Confess them!  Meditate on them!  They are life unto those that find them and medicine to all their flesh.

SURELY HE HAS BORNE OUR GRIEFS (SICKNESSES) AND CARRIED OUR SORROWS (PAINS) YET WE DID ESTEEM HIM STRICKEN, SMITTEN OF GOD, AND AFFLICTED. (Isaiah 53:4)  Thank you Father, that your Word sys, “Surely He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains.”   I refuse to bear what Jesus bore for me.

BUT HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS, HE WS BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITIES; THE CHASTISEMENT OF OUR PEACE WAS UPON HIM: AND WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED. (Isaiah 53:5)  By Jesus’ stripes I was healed.  If I was healed, then I am healed.  Body, in Jesus’ name, I command you to line up with the Word of God.

…AND HE HEALED ALL THAT WERE SICK THAT IT MIGHT BE FULFILLED WHICH WS SPOKEN BY ESAIAS, THE PROPHET, SAYING HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND BARE OUR SICKNESSES. (Matthew 8:16-17) Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses.

BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS: WHO FORGIVETH ALL THINE INIQUITIES: WHO HEALETH ALL THY DISEASES. (Psalm 103:3) Lord, I don’t forget the benefit of healing.   You heal all of my diseases.  Disease can’t live in my body.

…FOR I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE. (Exodus 15:26)  Thank you Lord, that you are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord that healeth me.  The Lord, my healer, You have sworn by covenant to be my healer.

AND OUGHT NOT THIS WOMAN BEING A DAUGHTER OF ABRAHAM, WHOM SATAN HATH BOUND LO THESE EIGHTEEN YEARS, BE LOOSED FROM THIS BOND ON THE SAVVATH DAY? (Luke 13:16)  I have a covenant with God and I ought to be healed.  Sickness, go from me.

SUBMIT YOURSELF THEREFORE TO GOD, RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. (James 4:7)  I resist sickness and it flees from me.
